Job Description

Purpose



The postholder will work closely with the Head of Registry, Academic Manager, Year Leads and the Administration Team. You will have significant administrative experience within Higher Education or similar environment and experience of, or an understanding of, issues relating to Business and Health and Social Care courses would be beneficial while ensuring the efficiency and effective delivery in accordance with the College's strategies and policies which influence leading-edge practices.

Roles & Responsibilities



? To ensure the Assessment and Referral process is followed to university guidelines and standards.

? Build knowledge of the assessment criteria and regulations.

? To work alongside Year Leads, Academic Manager, tutors, and Programme Coordinators to ensure the assessment process runs smoothly and to take any necessary follow-up action.

? Ensure assessment/examinations operate effectively, putting student experience first.

? Take a proactive role in improving the assessment/examination process.

? Be responsible for the organisation of assessments across various campuses.

? Ensure assessment guidelines, procedures and processes are updated in a standard format, and issued to all tutors, year leads, administration team, and senior management.

? Train staff on assessment/examination guidelines and procedures.

? Lead the preparation of assessment information including complex assessment spreadsheets.

? Be responsible for providing detailed reports to the Senior Management.

? Responsibility for the processing of all assessment marks including inputting and checking of marks

? Input results on the WIC database, ensuring student record is up to date with examination results/re-sits/referrals

? Organise and chair meetings

? Keep accurate data records of pass, deferral, resit and fail results for each cohort in all subject areas

? Ensure electronic copies of all candidate examination answer books are kept securely

? Keep secure electronic copies of all past papers

? Report writing on assessment results, attendance and progression as a college

? Knowledge and use of MS programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint

? Knowledge and use of database systems

? Drive self-development and keep CPD active

? Support the registry function in attendance, admissions and registry as and when required

Person Specification Essential



? BA degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline

? Experience in a Assessment role (1-2 Years)

? Active interest in current developments in teaching and the student experience

? Commitment to diversity, equality, inclusivity and safeguarding Skills and Experience

? Significant administrative experience within Higher Education or a similar environment

? Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with people at all levels

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to confidently communicate with a variety of stakeholders through a communications plan and informal means

? Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to improving the student experience

? Demonstrate excellent organisational skills

? Ability to deal with sensitive situations in a tactful and confidential manner

? Experience with digital assessment tools (Blackboard/Moodle) and statistical analysis software

? Creative approach to problem-solving

? High standard of IT skills, with knowledge of MS Office, and ability to quickly learn new IT packages

? Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities

? Positive, proactive, professional approach and ability to mentor others where appropriate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 26,000.00 per year
