Commercial Asset Management (CAM) is responsible for optimising a portfolio of generation capability on behalf of the GenCo, providing commercial optimisation signals within RWEST CAO across the various desks and tenors.
The CAM team provide commercial guidance/ optimisation , fuel logistics and fuel procurement services for the generation assets on behalf of RWE Generation. The portfolio includes gas, biomass and Hydro plants

• Optimise RWE Generation asset capability across tenor of transferred capability (typically 3 years -

) * CAO commercial lead contact with specific RWE Generation power stations

• Optimisation of all generation capability beyond prompt market timescales
• Liaise with CAO Hedging & Short Term Trading & Ancillary Services team to develop and transfer gas station option products for monetisation
• Develop and implement strategies for managing the complex risks which are inherent in generation asset operations
• Provide commercial support and guidance to RWE Generation stakeholders to facilitate business planning, investment strategy and project scheme papers
• Provide commercial lead on Business Improvement Projects within RWE Generation
• Develop commercial optimisation strategies for managing plants to end of life
• Co-operate with other RWEST functions to develop new products both internally and externally which add value to the business
• Provide management information services to RWE Generation to support station activities
• Ensure that best practices are adopted within the CAO teams in UK & Germany

Your powerful skills

• Degree in a numerical / commercial discipline desirable
• Expert understanding of energy markets, and the value chain within the RWE businesses
• Good understanding of the capability, operation and maintenance of generation assets
• Experience of working across the commercial interfaces within the RWE group
• Strong analytical and commercial skills
• Ability to distil complex risk, technical and commercial issues
• Ability to liaise, coordinate, formulate and bring forward robust, pragmatic solutions and commercial proposals for consideration/implementation within the business
• Ability to negotiate and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders at a senior level across business units both inside RWEST CAO and across the group including, Risk Control, Front Office desks, Finance, generation management teams
• Strong customer focus
• A very flexible , creative approach with strong teamworking skills essential
• Project management skills useful
• Ability to delivery to tight timescales and prioritise workload
