Job Description

Based in the Hitchin office and reporting to the Site Controller, the Assistant Accountant will be a key member of the overall Finance team looking after general ledger transactions/reconciliations, preparing and auditing customer rebate claims, setting and reviewing budgets with cost centre owners and managing various sub ledgers.

This role is ideal for someone looking to progress their career in finance and who is eager to learn, grow and develop essential skills in the world of finance and accounting. Responsibilities include:

Review & issue of weekly and monthly cost reports and review with the departmental owners, responding to any queries. Creation of cost centre budgets in collaboration with the Finance team and wider business for Plan and Forecast purposes. Preparation and audit of customer rebates and claims. Timely raising & posting of customer credit notes. Preparation & posting of journals. Completion of period end balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with external and internal audit information preparation and auditor questions. Collation of annual Tax Pack for submission to external tax advisors. Support with monthly and annual SOX reviews.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 27,000.00-34,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 22.5 per week
