Assistant Accountant
to join our dynamic team.
Main Duties of the Role include -
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal preparation, accruals, and prepayments
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and contribution margin analysis
Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
Process and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding and documentation
Support with multi-currency bank transactions, including reconciliation and foreign exchange revaluations
Co-manage the internal finance inbox, ensuring timely responses to internal and external queries
Monitor and actively manage aged debtors, supporting the credit control process
Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required by the Financial Controller
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
Objectives & Measurement
- Timely and accurate month-end submissions
- Clean and reconciled balance sheet accounts with no aged unidentified items
- Budget and forecast submissions that meet required deadlines
- Effective and professional communication across departments
- Reduction in debtor days and improved cash flow tracking
- Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders

Required Experience & Education
Education & Training
- AAT trained or qualified by experience
- Continued professional development supported and encouraged
- Experience using Sage 200 or equivalent accounting systems
Skills & Experience
Essential -
- Previous experience from a similar accounting role
- Working knowledge of financial systems
Desirable -
Experience of processing payroll (Sage50)
Experience of Invoice Discounting Systems
Experience of VAT preparation and submission
Experience of P11Ds
