You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and assisting the Branch Manager in the day to day running of the branch, deputising for the Branch Manager in their absence
You shall ensure day-to day cylinder filling & handling activities run smoothly, and suitable and sufficient resources are available to meet customer demand
The Assistant Branch Manager shall deputise as site landlord, ensuring the appropriate monitoring and maintenance of the site infrastructure and fixed assets is undertaken; and that engineering standards are adhered to
You will be responsible for the coordination of site production and maintenance activities within defined budgets and targets, ensuring they are performed safely and within legislative and management system framework
You will provide cover for Production Shift Managers when required
The Assistant Branch Manager will manage asset control, administration and site security resources and processes, including visitor inductions and emergency response
You will play an important role in coaching a team of Production Shift Managers, Shift Supervisors, Asset control and the plant maintenance team on site to help them meet their specific objectives and development plans
You will be a key player in collaborating with keystakeholders, both internally and externally
What makes you great
You shall possess a HNC or HND qualification (or be committed to complete if not qualified)
You shall also hold a NEBOSH/IOSH Certificate (or equivalent) or be committed to complete if not qualified)
A working knowledge of ISO9001:2008 - ISO14001operating procedures and systems would be advantageous
Previous management experience in an industrial setting, alongside experience of people management and development would be advantageous
You shall possess experience engaging and working with recognised Trade Unions
Experience of cylinder filling and handling operations would be advantageous
You will be proficient in applying business policies and procedures to include disciplinary and disputes in line with Trade Union National Agreements
A demonstrable proven track record in managing and motivating personnel to ensure development and engagement with the ability to communicate at all levels and establish positive relationships with key stakeholders such as Trade Union representatives
You will possess the ability to understand and react to fluctuating business demands to maintain high efficiency and customer satisfaction within agreed cost parameters
Lastly, you shall be confident working with integrity, role modelling the behaviours aligned to an inclusive workplace
