Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club, established in 2015, is dedicated to providing accessible sporting opportunities for children and adults who are Powerchair users in the Ayrshire area. Our mission is to enhance the lives of disabled individuals by reducing social isolation and fostering community engagement through the sport of Powerchair Football.

We are seeking a coach to join our passionate team at Ayrshire Tigers. This role is vital in supporting our mission to promote inclusivity in sports and help players develop their skills and conf the script idence on the field.
The club are seeking a motivated and dedicated coach to support the players with their aspirations to regain their Scottish championship title next season and improve their performance in the domestic cup competitions.
Powerchair football is a unique sport that provides opportunities for people with a high level of impairment to access the game of football. It is the only active team participation sport for people who use electric wheelchairs.
The game is for anyone who uses a powered wheelchair or those who have limited movement in a manual wheelchair. The sport is fast-paced, dynamic and very enjoyable to watch. The unique nature of powerchair football allows all ages, disabilities and both genders to compete together.
The Assistant Coach role will involve supporting our Head Coach to manage and deliver coaching services for the club at training sessions and on match days. Our team competes in the Scottish Powerchair Football league and cup competitions run by the Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA).
The club expects to see the development of players and work towards planning for match-day tactics.
We would like you to work closely with the head coach to develop the players and provide them with good quality training sessions.
You will be required to commit to:
One 3 hour training session per week on a Tuesday evening at Kyle Academy in Ayr
6 to 8 competitive match days per year on Sundays
Undertaking any necessary & relevant training (Paid for)

Main Responsibilities
Assist the head coach in planning and delivering training sessions for players of varying abilities.
Provide support and encouragement to players during practices and matches.
Help educate players on the rules and strategies of Powerchair Football.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and personal growth.
Collaborate with volunteers and other coaches to enhance the overall experience for participants.
Engage with parents and caregivers to support player development and community involvement.
Assist the head coach with the selection of first team squad
Assist the head coach to track progress of players outside of the First Team to help player pathway to the First Team
Develop a good understanding of powerchair football coaching methods and tactics
Ensure compliance with SPFA policies and regulations
Profile
Essential
A clean UK Driving licence
Experience in sports coaching or a strong passion for sports education.
Excellent communication skills, particularly with individuals with disabilities.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Be organised & have good time management skills

Rate of Pay
The successful applicant will be:
Paid 12.50 per hour and 50 on match days in the absence of the head coach (Travel expenses will also be paid to match venues).
We do not offer a set number of contracted hours due to the varying schedule of the powerchair football calendar. However, the successful applicant can expect to claim hours for:
One training session per week on a Tuesday evening between January and December.
6 to 8 match days per year normally on a Sunday
Also possibility of additional match days/training sessions throughout the year
