We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Coffee Shop Manager to join of vibrant team the John Lewis Ori Caffe and ensure the smooth operation of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a background in food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily operations, maintain high standards of quality, and foster a welcoming environment for customers. Prior experience in restaurant, hotel, or cafe management is highly desirable, along with expertise in food preparation, culinary techniques, and team supervision.
Duties
Oversee daily coffee shop operations, ensuring efficient service and high standards of quality.
Manage staff schedules, supervise team members, and provide training to enhance performance.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas.
Coordinate food preparation and production processes, including brewing coffee, preparing light snacks, and other menu items.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as required.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any complaints promptly to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Implement promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing clientele.
Maintain health and safety protocols throughout the premises.
Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences aligned with brand values.
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or culinary roles is advantageous.
Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee brewing methods is preferred.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
Outstanding leadership qualities coupled with excellent communication skills.
