Our Lady of Pity RC Primary School, a Voluntary Academy, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Cook to carry out a range of catering and kitchen duties to support the smooth running of a very busy school kitchen. The ideal candidate will have excellent cooking and catering skills and enjoy working with a busy team. Experience of training and supervising other staff would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities:
To assist the kitchen team with the cooking of all school meals.
Serving children and school staff.
Cash handling and using a cash register.
Attending training sessions/staff briefings as required.
Communication with school admin staff, dinner supervisors and headteachers.
Assist the Cook with menu planning, ordering, costing, stock and portion control.
To contribute as an effective and collaborative member of the Catering Team.
To assist with the day to day food production in line with the daily menu, nutritional requirements and food hygiene regulations.
To assist in presenting lunch correctly and at the correct temperature.
To display, and practice, friendly and supportive interactions with children and staff at all times during service to deliver a student-focused lunchtime.
Training of Kitchen Assistants in good procedures.
Deputising for Cook when required.
Ensure all health and safety and food hygiene regulations and requirements are followed at all times by all members of the Catering Team.
