Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is essential in supporting the head cook and maintaining a well-organised kitchen environment.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients for various dishes. Help with cooking tasks as directed by the head cook, ensuring timely delivery of meals. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards at all times. Support the team in food preparation, including assembling dishes and plating for service. Ensure that kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly after use. Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is required. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced cooks. A passion for cooking and a desire to develop culinary skills further. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
