Celebrating 16 years of inspiring and nurturing young performers, we continue to provide high-quality performing arts opportunities across Widnes, Runcorn, Warrington, and Frodsham.
Under the leadership of Andrew Curphey, ACTC fosters a supportive and creative environment where children and young people develop their skills in performing arts, musical theatre, drama, dance, and singing. We deliver community-based evening classes and work extensively with primary schools through workshops, PPA cover, curriculum projects, productions, and CPD lessons. Position: Assistant Coordinator and Practitioner (Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract)
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as an Assistant Coordinator and Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity for someone enthusiastic about theatre and education, with strong leadership skills and a commitment to growing our company. The role will initially be offered on a fixed-term, full-time contract, with the potential for extension based on performance and company needs.
Salary: 24,000 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including evenings, school holidays, and some weekends
Fixed Term: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching in Primary Schools: Deliver high-quality performing arts workshops, lessons, and curriculum-based projects during school hours.
Evening Class Leadership: Teach and manage ACTC's community-based evening sessions, ensuring high standards of teaching and student engagement.
Production & Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, organisation, and execution of productions, performances, and special projects.
Holiday Club Planning & Delivery: Organise and lead engaging holiday club sessions, ensuring a fun and educational experience for participants.
Administrative & Office Tasks: Support the smooth running of the company through administrative duties, including scheduling, communication, and documentation.
Social Media & Marketing: Manage and enhance ACTC's social media presence, create engaging content, and contribute to marketing strategies to promote the company's offerings.
Business Growth & Promotion: Actively contribute to the growth and promotion of the company, engaging with new schools, families, and students.
Collaboration with the Director: Work closely with Andrew Curphey and the wider ACTC team to develop and enhance the company's offerings and ensure its continued success.
Additional Duties: Undertake any other tasks that the director feels appropriate to support the company's objectives.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:
A degree-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Performing Arts, Education, Community Arts, or similar)
Experience in teaching or facilitating performing arts sessions for children and young people
Strong organisational and administrative skills
A passion for theatre, education and community engagement
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A confident, approachable and professional attitude when representing the company
Strong social media and marketing skills with the ability to create engaging content and promote the company effectively
Flexibility to work evenings and travel between venues as required
