The Private Secretary's Office plays a critical role in supporting Their Majesties' official programmes, speeches and messages, patronages, correspondence, and advising on a range of constitutional, governmental and societal topics.


You will support the construction of Their Majesties' official programme, collating diary invitations, assessing priorities and preparing papers for planning meetings, as well as supporting Her Majesties' team, when required.


You'll work closely with all levels of stakeholders across the Royal Household, Government and across the Commonwealth where every decision is impactful, and every day is filled with new and exciting challenges.

Key Responsibilities



You will assist in the management of Their Majesties' official programmes, working closely with the Diary Manager to The King. Your responsibilities will include supporting the creation of Their Majesties' diaries, assessing the priorities of invitations, and preparing documentation for planning meetings. You'll coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, overseeing diary entries, meetings, and appointments while liaising with other Diary Managers and handling ad hoc projects. As a key member of the team, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders from diverse communities, ensuring smooth communication between internal and external parties. Your role will also involve supporting the Diary Manager in various tasks, including deputising when necessary. You'll manage a varied and fast-paced workload, interacting at senior levels and contributing to the high standards of service that the Royal Household is known for.

About you

Essential Criteria



You'll bring experience in administration and diary management, with a keen eye for detail and a high standard of work in managing complex schedules for senior executives. With exceptional organisational skills, you'll be able to prioritise tasks, manage a busy workload and meet tight deadlines. With a forensic attention to detail, you'll be confident that all of your work is mistake free. Proactive and flexible, you'll thrive under pressure while maintaining professionalism and discretion in all situations. You'll have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently and diplomatically with individuals at all levels across various organisations. From your proficiency in MS Office and other IT tools, you'll be an expert in drafting and be able to organise and manage information effectively. And with strong interpersonal skills, you'll be able to effortlessly collaborate effectively within a team, maintain confidentiality and make informed decisions in high-stakes situations.
