The Role





A fixed term vacancy has arisen within the Special Education Needs (SEN) Team for an Assistant Education Health and Care Plan (EHC) Officer. This is an opportunity to join a supportive team who are committed to ensuring that quality services and support are provided to children and young people with SEN.



The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the statutory assessment process for children and young people with SEN. Tasks will include ensuring that draft, final and amended EHC Plans are issued in line with statutory timescales, preparing information for decision making panels, processing invoices and distributing and responding to correspondence.



The post holder in this desk based position, will provide information and advice to parents, children and young people with SEN along with schools and other professionals regarding the statutory assessment process. There is a requirement to work closely with a range of service providers including colleagues in health, social care and education.



The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, proven administrative skills, attention for detail and will be focused upon securing the best outcomes for the children and young people in Herefordshire with SEN.
