Job Description

We're working with a well-established construction contractor based in Liverpool who are looking to bring an Assistant Estimator into their commercial team. The Role

As Assistant Estimator, you'll work closely with the Senior Estimator and wider pre-construction team, supporting the preparation of competitive and accurate tenders. You'll gain exposure to the full estimating process, from initial enquiry through to final submission, and play a key part in helping secure new work for the business.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions and cost estimates. Analysing drawings, specifications, and other tender documentation. Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations. Supporting take-offs and quantity measurements. Maintaining tender files, databases, and cost libraries. Helping develop tender strategies and ensuring deadlines are met. Working collaboratively with the wider commercial and project delivery teams.

Requirements

Previous experience in an estimating or quantity surveying support role, ideally within construction. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Confident with Excel and estimating software Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability. A proactive attitude and eagerness to develop within the role.
