PURPOSE STATEMENT

To support the Facilities Engineer in maintaining a safe, clean, and fully operational bakery environment. The role involves hands-on maintenance, minor repairs, and assisting in ensuring all facilities equipment and systems are functioning efficiently to support production and staff welfare.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Technical Support:

Assist the Facilities Engineer in conducting routine inspections and monitoring of:

o HVAC systems

o DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) plant

o Water treatment and cooling systems

Record and report readings, abnormalities, and potential faults with a CMMS system. Carry out basic planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs. Carry out routine checks and inspections to ensure smooth operation of site whilst maintaining up to date and accurate records, to include responsibility for fire alarm system testing. Operate and maintain specialist equipment required for grounds maintenance and general repairs applicable to the role.

Building Maintenance:

Perform general maintenance duties including:

o Changing light bulbs and fittings

o Basic plumbing tasks, unblocking sinks and replacing taps

o Minor repairs to doors, fixtures, and fittings

Assist with decorating and minor refurbishments as needed.

Cleaning & Upkeep:

Regular cleaning external windows Jet washing and maintenance of external building Ensure grounds are clean, tidy, and safe (groundskeeping duties)

Stores & Logistics Support:

Move materials and stores within the site using forklift trucks (if licensed) Assist in organising maintenance tools and equipment Support deliveries and internal stock movements

Health & Safety and Compliance:

Follow all health and safety regulations and site procedures Maintain cleanliness and safety of plant rooms and working areas Report hazards, near-misses, and faulty equipment promptly Any other duties as reasonably required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Essential

Practical skills in general building repairs, maintenance and upkeep Good awareness of health and safety Strong problem solving and organisational skills Good communication skills Able to manage own work effectively Level 2 qualification in Engineering, Building Maintenance, or a related Facilities discipline Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems


Desirable

Experienced and competent in the operation and maintenance of specialist equipment COSHH awareness Working at Height and Manual Handling training Experience in a food manufacturing or similar hygiene-critical environment Forklift truck licence Rich Products Corporation welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
