Drive financial precision and support key decisions as our Assistant Financial Controller (Maternity Cover).
The finance team currently manages 35-40 m per annum and our portfolio is continually growing. This is a great role for someone who is looking for their next career move to work in an environment which exposes them to all the commercial aspects of a finance department. Our expectation is that you will have sound financial experience, with an advanced understanding and application of MS Excel skills and accounting software; with a clear focus on continuously improving technology within a finance team. We are looking for someone to join the Team in August / early September at the latest.
Ideally you will have the below skills, knowledge and experience:
Financial Qualifications required (or working towards)
Highly computer literate with advanced skills in Excel, Word and Microsoft Office software.
Excellent numeracy and communication skills alongside attention to detail and a keen problem solver.
Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external clients and suppliers.
Ability to identify and work to accounts processing deadlines and manage sensitive and confidential information.
Assist the Financial Controller in producing monthly management accounts to strict deadlines.
Experience of payroll and processing payroll elements (desirable.)
Manage, develop and motivate a finance team (Credit Control and Invoicing Departments)
Familiarity with audit preparation.
Understanding of labour-heavy opeations - dealing with payroll complexities, scheduling, and cost control per contract / client / site (desirable).
Good written and verbal communication.
Supporting the implementation and enhancement of finance systems and reporting tools.
Driving process improvement and automation within the finance function.
