Nova of London Ltd - Assistant Garment Technologist

Nova of London is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Garment Technologist with proven experience in a fast-paced, creative fashion environment.

With a passion for garment construction and quality, the successful applicant will support the Product Development team in ensuring all garments meet Nova's high standards of fit, quality, and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Measure garments, prepare fit logs, and assist during fit sessions.

Develop and update size specifications to ensure desired fit and silhouette.

Provide accurate measurements to enable vendors to assess and improve sample fit.

Maintain consistency of fit across the size range by adhering to grade rules.

Support the establishment of product quality and construction standards to guide factories in sample and order production.

Attend fit meetings and provide clear, detailed fit comments to factories in regions including the Far East, India, Pakistan, and the UK.

Review and assess samples from prototype to pre-production stages against agreed fit, construction, and quality standards.

Request, track, and approve test reports where required.

Monitor and update product progress, ensuring timelines are met according to the critical path.

Coordinate national and international courier shipments.

Provide general support to the Technical and Product Development teams.

Requirements:

A minimum of 1 year experience as an Assistant Garment Technologist or in a similar fashion industry role.

Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of pattern cutting and fit principles.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

A proactive attitude and keen eye for detail.

The right to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
