DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Garment Technology team is responsible for ensuring the fit, quality, compliance and technical performance of garments across Norty's multi-brand portfolio. The team works closely with brand, sourcing and manufacturing partners to deliver commercially viable products that meet customer and regulatory expectations.
PRINCIPAL SCOPE & PURPOSE OF JOB
Reporting to the Assistant Garment Technology Manager / Garment Technology Manager, the Garment Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day technical management of assigned products and brands. The role focuses on hands-on technical delivery from development through to bulk production, ensuring fit accuracy, quality standards and compliance requirements are met.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage technical development from prototype through to bulk approval
Measure, fit and assess samples, providing clear fit comments
Review garment construction, grading and tolerances
Track samples against critical path timelines
Support repeat and continuity styles
Liaising with oversees suppliers on technical queries and feasibility
Support quality assurance, testing and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate tech packs and specifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Garment Technologist role
Experience managing garments from development to bulk
Direct experience working with garment manufacturers
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Advanced Excel proficiency for technical data management, analysis, and reporting
Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and trims
Understanding of fit, grading and pattern principles
Knowledge and understanding of garment testing, compliance and labelling
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident written and verbal communication
