Job Description

Coombe Wood Golf Club is a thriving private Members' club that has gone from strength to strength in recent years, making this an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious professional to grow with the club. The AGM role is dynamic and wide ranging, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain extensive operational experience within a private members' golf club environment. This position is well suited to an aspiring General Manager, looking to further develop their career within the industry.Reporting to the General Manager, you will have key responsibility for:

Accounts & Office Administration



Maintain a weekly spreadsheet of bar and pro shop takings and petty cash income and expenditure, ensuring any discrepancies are highlighted to the general manager Maintain control over all incoming supplier invoices, collate and seek approval from department heads, post to the accounting system and raise electronic payments Ensure timely generation of sales invoices Manage all supplier queries Manage member top-ups, competition winnings, petty cash reconciliations, and monthly reporting on ticket sales and online charges

Clubhouse Management and Health & Safety



Maintain and oversee the presentation of the clubhouse, including locker rooms, common areas, and function rooms, carrying out regular cleaning audits Keep health and safety records up to date and ensure all inspections are completed Manage utility contracts and liaise with all contractors on site

Marketing and Communications



Drive a targeted communications strategy to deliver informative and relevant messages to different sections of the membership Create and deliver engaging content across all member communication channels, including the club website, intelligent golf app, social media platforms, as well as around the clubhouse Manage online advertisement campaigns in conjunction with the GM, along with driving innovative outreach initiatives Coordinate communications on behalf of club captains and committee members

Membership



Serve as a primary point of contact for all current member enquiries Manage billing and account queries, generating monthly reports to identify discrepancies Enhance member engagement and support new member onboarding and integration

Sales and Events



Oversee administrative aspects of all member events and support operational requirements alongside the Food & Beverage Manager as required Manage enquiries and drive sales for golf days, parties, wakes, and other club events Drive initiatives to improve member participation and engagement in all club events

General



Acquire in depth knowledge of the food and beverage operation and assist as needed to ensure efficient delivery of service to members Act as Duty Manager and assume responsibility for smooth operation of all aspects of the Club in the absence of the General Manager, including clubhouse opening/closing as required

Requirements



At least 2 years' experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of the golf club management industry Confident and positive personality Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal Ability to work under pressure and multi task Previous experience in overseeing marketing campaigns Ambition to succeed, willingness to work hard and a strong desire to learn Computer literacy, including previous experience with membership and POS systems Flexibility to work hours required by the business
