We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for culinary excellence. This role requires a hands-on approach to food preparation, team management, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Support and deputise for Kitchen Manager
Run the food pass during peak service especially during brunch and lunch period.
Maintain food plating and consistent plating across sites.
Oversea and delegate checklists, Health & Safety, allergen protocols and kitchen housekeeping.
Develop new menu items and enhance existing recipes to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
Ensure food production (sandwiches, salads and lunch items) is timely and well organised.
Assist with training new kitchen team members and providing feedback.
Contribute creative ideas for seasonal and special recipes.
Assist with stock control, ordering and site to side transfer protocols
What's expected
Strong and proven experience as a chef or in a similar culinary role within a cafe or restaurant.
Calm and organised leadership abilities with experience in supervising kitchen teams effectively.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary operations.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Good understanding of food safety, HACPP, allergens and cleanliness.
Previous experience in team management is highly desirable, along with effective communication skills.
Clear communicator with a positive approach and problem solving skills.
