Root/25 is a London coffee house We are a warm and inviting corner of the city serving high quality coffee and providing a meeting, thinking and relaxing space for all.

Our coffee, ground each morning, is responsibly sourced and roasted and our cakes and sandwiches are baked daily and divine if we say so ourselves. We also host an exciting programme of events ranging from art classes to live music nights, workshops, and exhibitions.

Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that our kitchen and coffee operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves supervising staff, overseeing food preparation and production, and maintaining high standards of food and drink safety. The Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the whole experience for our guests while supporting the overall management of the establishment.

Duties



Assist in managing daily operations of the coffee shop including the efficient running of the kitchen and bar Supervise kitchen staff and baristas, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow. Oversee food and coffee preparation and production, ensuring quality and presentation meet established standards. Implement and maintain food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations. Train new staff on coffee production, culinary techniques, kitchen equipment operation, and safety practices. Collaborate with the management team to develop menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to ensure satisfaction. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements



Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation. Experience as head barista/supervisor and with kitchen experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for hospitality and commitment to providing exceptional service.

Pay: 14.00-15.00 per hour
