We're looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager to join the team at The Admiral, a welcoming, family-friendly free house in the village of Over, just outside Cambridge.

The Admiral is a lively community pub offering authentic Thai cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere, live music, quiz nights, and events that bring locals together. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in pub management and work closely with our Manager to help run day-to-day operations.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll work directly under our Manager, supporting all aspects of the pub's operation and helping lead the team by example. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Manager with the daily running of the pub Supervising and motivating the front-of-house team Delivering excellent customer service in a family-friendly environment Assisting with staff training, rotas, and shift management Helping to manage stock, ordering, and cellar standards Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance Supporting events such as live music nights, quizzes, and functions Stepping up to run shifts independently when required
What We're Looking For

Previous experience in hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or management role A positive, can-do attitude with strong people skills Ability to lead a team and remain calm under pressure Passion for great food, drink, and customer experience Organised, reliable, and happy to be hands-on Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy periods
