Role duties and responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Assistant Production Manager at Kent Pharma include, but are not limited to the below. Please note that the individual role may have a greater emphasis on one aspect of the Unit (eg Production or Dispatch) but the role holder should have sufficient knowledge to cover the other:
To support the Production Manager to ensure that the output of the HOL Production Unit and/ or its associated distribution activities meets the issued plan so that customer service levels (measured by Delivery In Full On Time) are maximised without any compromised to quality or compliance standards.
To ensure that all relevant GMP-related activities within the HOL production unit are completed to the highest possible quality standards and any deviations are captured and robustly investigated to prevent recurrence and/ or
To ensure that all relevant GDP-related activities within the HOL dispatch operation are completed to the highest possible quality standards and any deviations are captured and robustly investigated to prevent recurrence.
To initiate any non-conformances or CAPAs required and to drive these through to closure.
Supervise the day-to-day activities of the relevant department i.e. allocation of work to assembly, packing or supervision of dispatch activity
Ensure transfers take place on time to react to back orders.
Support the goods in operation.
To ensure that the HOL Production Unit operates efficiently and effectively to maximise output and customer service and to minimise costs against the agreed budget whilst ensuring that all operations are executed following cGxP standards and following approved processes
Close liaison with the Senior Production Planner/Buyer and Key Account Coordinators and active tracking of Unit activity and progress so that all finished product is produced and distributed in line with the agreed lead times, keeping all parties proactively informed of any delays to expected product availability.
Capture and collate relevant Production KPIs and use these to drive and improve performance
As required, develop, review and approve relevant GxP documentation including BPRs, seeking to proactively develop and document procedures so that they reflect best practice.
Lead or support in the management of Unit non-conformances, seeking to identify root cause and identifying robust corrective actions.w
Complete active performance management of all relevant team members, ensure daily work allocation and timesheets are completed.
Demonstrate effective and strong support for Unit leadership), managing and inspiring the team and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure that Health and Safety is upheld, maintained, and always monitored within the unit.
Skills and Experience (E: Essential, D: Desirable)
Whilst industry experience is not essential, the desire to stand out in a fast-paced environment is. You must have:
At least 2 years' experience within manufacturing or operational environment either in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry working to cGMP standards(E).
Experience in providing strong and effective supervision or management for diverse Operational teams (E).
Demonstrable use of production related KPIs to measure, identify and drive improvements in performance (E).
Solid understanding of cGMP and cGDP (E).
Understanding and application of Lean principles (D).
Use of SAP (D).
Organised and a self-starter; able to scope projects and drive initiatives (E).
Logical and systematic in the approach to your work, delivering with accuracy and in set timeframes (E).
Ability to prioritise and quickly adapt to changing environment and competing priorities with speed and agility (E).
Excellent written and verbal communicator (E).
Education
Pharmaceutical industry experience (D).
Educated to secondary school standard. GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics (E).
