Job purpose:
To provide high-quality pastoral support, coaching, and mentoring to students within your year group, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
To promote students' emotional well-being and resilience through tailored interventions and support plans.
To collaborate with colleagues, external agencies, and families to deliver effective pastoral care and improve student outcomes.
To uphold the values and ethos of UCC, ensuring students feel safe, supported, and valued.

Specific Responsibilities:
Work closely and collaboratively with the Key Stage Progress Leader to support student behaviour, wellbeing and outcomes within the year group.
Provide direct support to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
Develop and implement individual support plans to meet the needs of vulnerable students.
Liaise with external agencies (e.g., social services, CAMHS, counselling services) to coordinate multi-agency support.
Complete home visits where necessary
Co-lead student support meetings following suspensions or periods of absence, ensuring students are appropriately supported.
Deliver interventions to promote positive behaviour, attendance, emotional regulation, and resilience.
Contribute to the safeguarding of students, reporting concerns in line with the school's safeguarding policies.
Provide 1:1 support for students in the classroom when needed
Track and intervene with student attendance issues, working collaboratively with the attendance team.
Actively support disadvantaged students, acting as a central point of contact for families regarding attendance, punctuality, achievement and behaviour.
Operational Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student support, interventions, and outcomes.
Use data effectively to track and monitor the impact of interventions.
Contribute to the evaluation of pastoral systems and processes to drive continuous improvement.
Support the school's commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Support with the staffing of key areas such as the Cabin, Study Room. Medical Room and Triage.
Maintain a visible profile around school including the undertaking of specific duties to support with whole school behaviour.
Contribute to the wider responsibilities of the role e.g. attending Assemblies, Parents Evenings and Year Team meetings.
The effective follow up of behavioural issues within your year group. This may involve collating statements, communicating with parents and issuing sanctions.
To complete a weekly duty during social times to ensure the safe supervision of the school site.
