This is an onsite role only and you must be already based in Dorset or the immediate surrounding area to be eligible for the role.
Tods are looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to join the team to be responsible for planning, leading, administering and reporting on designated Projects and work packages in the Surface Ships portfolio. This can include the definition of the work during bids, as well executing or supporting launch, execution and shutdown phases. A key aspect is tracking, reporting and controlling variance against the contracted budget. The role involves close liaison with other functions, as well as internal and customer-facing documentation.
Responsibilities:
Deliver allocated Projects, work packages and artefacts on time and to cost.
Monitor and report on allocated key Project KPIs and financial metrics.
Clearly define allocated work breakdown structures and plans
Monitor, report and manage variance, identifying and taking actions to avoid any negative impact to the declared profit margin.
Capture any scope creep and work with the BD team to execute resulting Change process
Foster collaborative working relationships between internal stakeholders
Ensure that Project risks and their mitigations are captured, communicated and managed to the correct conclusion.
Derive and report resource requirements for allocated projects, highlighting consequences to the Programme Lead, Surface Ships.
Support Programmes Lead in other PM areas as allocated, including potential cross pollination into the Submarines area.
Ensure all departments have clear schedules of fixed requirements and supply forecast data as required.
Qualifications:
Technical Degree/HNC/HND/Apprenticeship or equivalent experience of a complex technical product.
Proven experience of customer facing as well as intercompany technical project management delivery.
Must be able to obtain basic security clearance.
