Assistant Property Manager

Job Description

4 days a week

Note, this role does not involve doing viewings and finding tenants, this is a management role

Based in Brighton and Hove, with bi-weekly meetings in person, and daily catch up calls as needed.

Must have own car for transport, and travel to properties when required to do so.

Directly reporting into the Property directors, and dotted reported lines into the Property Owner/s

Roles and Responsibilities



- self starter and use initiative

- high degree of responsibility and ownership

- manage the strategic decisions for the properties

- dealing with any legal matter (such as disputes and lease extensions)

- liaise with the relevant agents to ensure the properties are full let at the highest rents and dealing with tenant section

- being the point of contact for any tenants where there is no managing agent appointed

- must be on top of the current law and regulations and will be responsible to ensure the properties meet the necessary standards

- liaising with builders and managing any renovation projects

- managing any sale or purchase of properties and manning the transaction and being the principal of contact for the Agent and the lawyers

- Conducting regular inspections of the property when required

- daily check in calls with the owners

- liaising with the bookkeeper to ensure all payments and rents etc are updated and checked

- checking for EPC renewal, EICR, and gas safety certificates which need to renewed

- Working with EPC engineers and contractors to bring EPCs to C rating

- help to migrate all property documents and information into virtual files on the Cloud

- help with the preparation of year end accounts

- Working closely with existing management agents

- Ensuring all property/tenant issues, and maintenance issues are dealt with

- Issuing legal notices for tenant eviction where required

- Work closely with accountant, and Bookeeper to file tax returns

- General overall assistance to the property director, and property owners when required

Assistant Property Manager Requirements:



High school diploma/GED. Degree in business, management or real estate preferred. Previous experience in property management or real estate preferred. Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Proactive, and able to use own initiative to get the job done, and to perform the roles and responsibilities required. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Basic bookkeeping skills.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 20,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 per week

Work Location: In person
