The Role
We are seeking a
highly skilled and motivated Assistant Psychologist
to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of psychological assessments, interventions, and therapy services under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
A major component of this role involves
report writing
, so strong written communication and analytical skills are essential. You will assist in the preparation of psychological reports, treatment summaries, and clinical formulations, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and sensitivity in documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support qualified psychologists in psychological assessments, formulation, and interventions.
Produce
high-quality psychological reports
and clinical documentation.
Collect, analyse, and summarise psychological data using appropriate statistical and qualitative methods.
Assist in the design and delivery of therapeutic groups or individual sessions.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of psychological practice.
Contribute to audit, research, and service development projects.
Essential Criteria
BPS registration
(Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership).
An
undergraduate degree in Psychology
(minimum 2:1 or equivalent).
Strong
report writing and analytical skills
.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in a clinical or mental health setting.
Familiarity with psychometric testing, CBT-based interventions, or neuropsychological assessments.
Knowledge of clinical governance and data protection principles.
