Assistant Quantity Surveyor
to join our expanding commercial team in
Shepperton
.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in
social housing
and a working knowledge of
M3NHF Schedule of Rates (SORs)
who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll support the Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial team in managing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring commercial efficiency across a range of housing maintenance and refurbishment projects.
You'll gain hands-on experience
attending site meetings
,
preparing and signing off estimates
, and contributing to the smooth running of commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the
commercial and financial management
of projects from inception to completion.
Support in preparing and reviewing
estimates, valuations, tenders, and variations
.
Help ensure accurate costing and compliance using
M3NHF Schedules of Rates (SORs)
.
Attend site meetings
with clients, surveyors, and operational teams to gather project details.
Prepare and assist in signing off estimates
and other cost documentation.
Monitor budgets and assist in preparing financial reports for management.
Help identify and resolve commercial or contractual issues.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
About You
We're seeking a proactive and driven individual who is eager to learn, develop, and grow within a supportive and professional team.
Essential Requirements:
Experience working within the
social housing sector
(repairs, maintenance, or refurbishment).
Knowledge and understanding of
M3NHF Schedule of Rates (SORs)
.
Previous experience in an
Assistant QS or commercial support
role (preferred).
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Competent in
Microsoft Office
and relevant QS software.
A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn from senior colleagues.
