Due to increased growth in the business, we are looking for an individual to join our fast paced team as an Assistant Transport Manager at Reynolds Logistics. in our Kingsbury Depot. As the Assistant Transport Manager, you will work closely with the Transport Manager, managing and supervising our driver workforce across our KIngsbury Depots. You will have the opportunity to grow your knowledge and experience in the industry as you work with our operations team.

Key Responsibilities include:
Adhere to and promote a safe working environment
Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keep the customer updated
Manage an efficient and robust driver roster, looking for ways to increase area utilisation and efficiency
Monitor driver's hours, vehicle cleanliness and vehicle checks
Ensure all related Transport documents are properly completed, whilst assisting in the companies drive to a paperless solution
Responsibility for a safe working environment, including but not limited to any safety related investigations or audits
Liaise with Driver Training providers to ensure drivers are kept up to date with all aspects of training as well as monitoring behaviour improvements where possible
Assist with investigations into non-compliance
Liaise with Customers on specific region requirements around driver inductions / delivery qualifications / driver numbers / Vehicle numbers
Required to cover numerous depots so the ability to travel independently
Cross pollination of holiday cover required for other Local Transport Managers
Efficiently and accurately despatching drivers with all relevant paperwork
Prepare letters, minutes, notes and other clerical support to officers as appropriate and as directed by the programme manager.
Use initiative, tact and diplomacy in responding to queries, escalate issues and problems which arise to senior manager in the absence of the transport manager.
Order and monitor supplies of stationery and office requests for internal stakeholders.
Be responsible for maintaining efficient recording and filing systems within the service as directed by the transport manager
Ensure the drivers' paperwork has been completed in full and recording any feedback from them which will need to be passed to the management team.
Answering the phone, responding appropriately to any enquiries, calls and take messages to pass on to the relevant department.
Running Tachograph and KPI reports amongst other administrative tasks
Use of transport management softwares and data input
Support other members of the transport team with any tasks requiring completion
Skills and Requirements
Demonstrable administration skills (experience in fuels industry desirable)
A team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
An approachable and reliable attitude
Experience working in a busy Transport office desirable
Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of the WTD, Drivers Hours, Tachograph and Transport legislation preferable
Ability to prioritize own workload but also be able to work as part of a team
Attention to detail
Conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CRM systems.
