About us
------------
The UCL Strategic Plan 2022-2027 outlines a vision for a 'futures focussed' UCL education that is ambitious and distinctive. It prompts us to view UCL education and student experience through the lens of current and future students to ensure we are able to meet their needs and expectations. It also recognises that 'the future' is not a given. Instead, different futures are there to be influenced and shaped by UCL students, staff and graduates through our teaching and research.
One of the aims of the Strategic Plan is to bring together teaching, assessment and employability in order to support student futures and to that end, the new 'UCL Higher Education Development & Support Institute' (HEDS) is being established. HEDS brings together UCL Arena (UCL's Education Development Unit) and UCL Careers Service. HEDS sits within the Office of the Vice Provost (Education &; Student Experience) (VPESE).

One of seven Associate Directors (4 of whom are focused on Careers provision), the post holder will be a member of HEDS leadership team, contributing to the strategic leadership and operational management of HEDS as well as more specifically for UCL Careers Service. The latter 3 faculties all have programmes based at UCL East as part of the School of Creative and Cultural Industries. The core client group within the academic areas will be undergraduate and taught postgraduate students as well as recent graduates.
In this job you will lead and manage the relevant careers professionals (currently 12 staff, 8 of whom are direct reports) and manage the strategic relationship with academic staff and other senior stakeholders within the relevant faculties.
