The School of Social Sciences is looking to recruit a part-time, Associate Lecturer to teach on:
Environmental Observation by Remote Sensing (Level 7 postgraduate)
30 hours, January - March 2026
Teaching Fridays 6-9pm.
The position is to deliver lectures, seminars, and associated assessment supervision and marking, for the module above within in the School of Social Sciences.
You will have knowledge of Remote Sensing and experience of using Remote Sensing and GIS software and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).
Further to the person specification, essential requirements for this role are teaching and research experience in:
Managing and processing remote sensing data
Utilising remote sensing data to inform modelling environmental dynamics
Cloud-based image analysis
Modelling land cover change
Applying machine learning approaches to analyse environmental phenomena.
