As a result of year-on-year success within the company and continued business growth, exciting opportunities have arisen to join our team of 30+ drug metabolism scientists. We are responsible for delivering high quality metabolic stability, enzyme inhibition, enzyme kinetics and enzyme induction data to our clients, supporting projects from early discovery right through to clinical development. As a member of the team you will develop in depth technical expertise across all these areas and understand how this data is utilised to support drug discovery and inform clinical development.

Role



As an integral member of the Drug Metabolism team, you will work closely with other laboratory staff to ensure that all in vitro drug metabolism studies are performed to a high standard and within scheduled time frames.

Key Responsibilities



Assist in running and maintaining robotic systems to support high throughput ADMET processes Assist in data analysis and interpretation by applying scientific knowledge Monitor and maintain compounds, stock solutions and buffers. Routine calibration of laboratory equipment. Follow safety regulations and quality control procedures. Able to use initiative to solve problems and troubleshoot, with the assistance of other members of the team. Work autonomously as part of the team to deliver team's priorities, with good organisation and strong communication skills Assist senior team members in assay development, validation and bespoke assays, driving forward personal scientific understanding and development

Education, Qualifications and Experience



Minimum of BSc in a life science subject preferably with experience of working within a laboratory environment (such as a placement year or extended research project). Direct experience in DMPK or ADMET assays or working with automated liquid-handling and robotics systems would also be advantageous. Previous experience of laboratory processes and cell culture techniques would be desirable. Knowledge of HPLC, LC-MS or LC-MS/MS advantageous but not essential. Highly self-motivated and personable. Able to communicate effectively within a team environment. Able to organise daily tasks, to frequently work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Possess excellent attention to detail, performing work to an exceptionally high standard, and within company and statutory safety regulations. Able to use initiative to solve problems and troubleshoot with the assistance of other members of the team. Should be computer literate with previous experience using Microsoft Office
