Astrophoria Foundation Year Teaching Associate For The Law Course

Oxford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme seeks to appoint a part-time Teaching Associate for occasional hours of teaching (c. 30 hours per year). The role has been created to strengthen the academic bridge between the central Preparation for Undergraduate Studies (PUGS) course and the subject-specific Law course, ensuring coherent progression and targeted skills development for students from widening participation backgrounds. This role, requiring specialist expertise in Roman Law, addresses a critical curricular gap by embedding foundational legal concepts and analytical skills at an early stage for this specific group of students.

The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.

This position will be a fixed-term, part-time, variable hours contract to end July 2028.

Please see the job description and foundation year website for more information on the course structure and module detail.
