Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme: Classics Subject Lead
The Astrophoria Foundation Year (AFY) Programme seeks to appoint a Classics Subject Lead to deliver the AFY Programme Humanities course alongside other Subject Leads in English, History and Theology.
This role is fixed term until July 2028. The role is equivalent to 0. 255 FTE and as set out in this job description has two key functions: academic leadership in the subject area and providing elements of student teaching. The post holder will have a range of duties including being part of the Humanities course academic team, organising specific areas of the syllabus, writing and marking examinations and assessments, producing course materials and providing supervisory support and line management for course teaching staff where required. The syllabus area covered may include Classical languages and linguistics dependent on a candidate's skill set.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
