As a City of Sanctuary we are looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Attendance and Belonging Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by supporting sanctuary seeking children and families, improving school attendance, and promoting a strong sense of belonging across our communities.

What will I be doing?



Support Sanctuary Seeking children and families to find school places, particularly those with English as an additional language Ensuring Sanctuary Seeking children and families feel welcomed, understood, and supported. Deliver targeted attendance improvement work in collaboration with local authority teams, schools, and education settings.


What do I need to have?



A proactive and organised individual who thrives under pressure and can juggle multiple priorities with positivity and professionalism. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly in English or through an interpreter. Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, especially those with EAL (English as an Additional Language) and SEND needs. High levels of literacy and numeracy, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
