Come and join our dynamic team supporting autistic children and young people across Norfolk.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Educational Psychology and Specialist Support Service, working to promote the social and educational outcomes of autistic children and young people.
In this role, under the guidance of the Autism Support Team Lead, you will take a lead role within the school or educational setting to address the needs of autistic pupils who need specialised assistance to overcome barriers to learning.
Your role will include delivery of support packages in relation to social communication and learning differences, consultation with school staff, training for staff in educational settings and for parents and other professionals, either individually or by way of formal sessions, online and face to face.
The job is varied, and no two days are the same.
While experience and knowledge of working with autistic children is required, a willingness to learn specialist skills and to be flexible are essential qualities. The children and young people, their families, and the education settings we support, have a range of needs.
You will be resilient, flexible and confident. You will undertake a mixture of activities directly in schools, office bases and from home, involving remote working but in the context of a strong and supportive team who are based all over Norfolk.
If you have the relevant qualifications and experience and would like to join us in improving outcomes for children, young people and their families across Norfolk, please apply.
The work in schools is countywide and there are office bases in Norwich, Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth, the ability to travel independently is essential.
Before you apply, we recommend reading the full to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Julie Stewart, Autism Team Leader or Carrie Miller, Senior Adviser - Specialist Teaching and Learning
