ARP Teacher
to lead learning for children within their Autism Resource Provision. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, inclusive setting where specialist strategies and a nurturing approach are at the heart of the provision.
About the Role
Teaching a class of
12 children
, all diagnosed with
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
.
Responsible for planning and delivering highly differentiated, engaging, and inclusive lessons that meet a wide range of learning and sensory needs.
Implement and use structured teaching approaches including
TEACCH
,
PECS
, and visual timetables.
Create a safe, predictable, and stimulating learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and socially.
Work closely with the
SENCO
to support whole-school inclusion and contribute to strategic planning for pupils with SEN.
Liaise regularly with parents and carers, building strong partnerships to support progress and well-being.
The Ideal Candidate
Holds
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- applications welcome from
ECTs
with strong relevant experience.
Extensive experience working with children with
Autism
, ideally within an ARP, special school, or specialist setting.
Strong understanding of
communication systems and structured interventions
, including PECS, TEACCH, and sensory integration approaches.
Able to differentiate planning to support a range of learning profiles, including pre-verbal and emerging communicators.
Positive, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
Comfortable working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external agencies.
