A lovely SEND school in Rossendale is looking for a caring and experienced
Autism Teaching Assistant
to provide tailored support for a child with autism.
The Role
As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will:
Work directly with a child with autism, supporting their learning and development.
Provide encouragement and reassurance to help them engage in classroom activities.
Support with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individualised support strategies.
Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
Working hours:
Monday - Friday: 8.30pm - 3:30pm
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children with
autism
(essential).
A patient, understanding, and supportive approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust.
A team player who can work closely with school staff and parents.
Essential Requirements
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willingness to apply - support available).
A full and up-to-date CV outlining SEN experience.
