We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, particularly in the areas of plastics injection moulding and tooling. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in continuous improvement initiatives and will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions.
Duties
Design and develop automation systems using CAD software, including AutoCAD, to create detailed schematics.
Implement and maintain logic controllers for automated processes, ensuring optimal functionality.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within existing systems and develop effective solutions.
Collaborate with production teams to enhance processes related to plastics injection moulding and tooling.
Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
Provide technical support and training to staff on automated systems and equipment.
Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards in all designs and implementations.
Requirements
Siemens PLC programming knowledge essential
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, is essential.
Experience with schematics design and automation systems is required.
Knowledge of plastics injection moulding processes is advantageous.
Familiarity with tooling design and manufacturing processes is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement practices.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
