Description



Provide full life-cycle support for Motion Control, HMI, PLC and SCADA systems for our customer's plant. We provide project engineering and design solutions. We deliver hardware and software development solutions and provide our customers with project/system support, maintenance and improvements.

As an Automation Engineer you will work in a multi-disciplinary team and will work closely with the Project Manager and sales. You will provide full life-cycle support for the process control systems (Motion Control, HMI, PLC and SCADA) on the customer's systems: from project engineering and design through software development, commissioning and support.

Major Tasks:



Engineering

Translate user requirements in a functional design and technical concept

Implement Motion Control, HMI, PLC and SCADA applications

Assist project department when new machines are purchased.

Coordinate commissioning of new installations (FAT, SAT) together with the Project Manager.

Manage scope, budget and planning

Update automation documentation (functional analysis, manuals,...)

Customer support

Resolve day-to-day automation issues

Participate in the rotating on-call support

Support production, process improvement and maintenance in problem analysis and optimization.

Apply the necessary software and hardware updates

Manage critical spare parts assets

Development

Improve work processes and setup standards for process control software and systems in order to increase reliability and efficiency.

Participate in best-practice peer groups.

Continuous development of your own knowledge

Organize training for end-users and peers.

Qualifications and Skills:



Master degree or Bachelor degree with minimal 3 years' experience (electrical, information technology, process technology). Experience in-lieu of degree will be considered.

Proficient in controls software design/development with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, etc.

Proficient in C#, VB, VB. Net and SQL system to develop cross-platform applications.

Knowledge of Industrial HMI/Control Systems/SCADA, Windows/Linux, OPC Server and DDE.

Problem solving skills

Conceptual thinking ability. Can translate customer requirements into technical solutions

Strong teamwork and communication skills to manage multiple/concurrent projects

Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and process control systems

Very good communication skills on multiple levels (supervision, operators, maintenance, IT)

Works independently and responsible without close supervision. Must be able to take full responsibility

Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment

Basic IT skills (software, database, networking, operating systems, security/IP)

Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies

Full UK driving licence

Excellent command of English

Eligibility to work and live in the UK.
