Role purpose: Audio Visual Installation Technician
Although this role notes Omagh as location of work, Hamilton Robson is flexible with where the engineers are based e.g. Dublin, Belfast, Omagh.
We are looking to expand our team of energetic, committed, and diligent Audio Video installation technicians. Our technicians work closely with Engineers & Project Managers to ensure site needs are met, schedules are on track, and the appropriate resources and equipment are utilized. This is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to gain valuable experience in the AV space, where you will apply your practical installation experience, whilst gaining valuable experience in the rapidly transforming unified communications space assisting in the delivery of high-quality meeting room, conferencing, and 'special spaces' AV systems.
You will have hands-on exposure, e.g., pull and terminate cabling, install infrastructure for speakers, cameras, displays, video walls and projectors, and integrate devices to form fully functional Audio and Video Conferencing systems. As the backbone of our installation team, you will work with Project managers and AV Pre-sales engineers to deploy AV solutions from start to finish.
We run a separate division for specialist Audio Visual Projects in the Visitor attraction industry which provide ample opportunity for Technician to grow within the business.
How You will Make an Impact & What You'll Do:
A Level 2 engineer, whose primary responsibility is to ensure the physical installation is clean, smooth, and free of errors. They should be able to get complex systems powered, and confirm signals are being routed appropriately.
Responsible for the rack and stack of a variety of equipment racks, dressing, terminating, labelling and testing of cabling.
A comprehensive understanding of construction drawings, cable pull schedules, and AV System Schematics
Efficiently pull, terminate, test and label field cabling to the correct locations if necessary
Carefully and efficiently measure out, and mount equipment onto and within a variety of surfaces as per drawings and specifications
Utilise AV System Drawings to install, connect, tidy and serviceable devices behind displays, within in furniture, and in AV system racks
Assist with the commissioning and testing of newly installed systems
Assist with troubleshooting by verifying and testing cabling, and checking power/signal flow
You will be asked to handle other duties related to the success of a project as needed (providing situation reports, maintaining site inventory, or assisting with deliveries, van deliveries and clean-up), asset tagging and other adhoc warehousing duties
The right candidate will take on directed tasks quickly and efficiently, ask appropriate clarifying questions, possess effective communication ability, and seek mentorship to develop new skills on the jobsite

What You'll Need:

AV installation experience - especially related to audio and control systems
Desired but not essential.
