Due to growth, we are looking for an electrical biased new member into join our aerospace production team based at our state of the art facilities in Fareham (Segensworth). The role will support the Avionics Manufacturing and Assembly Team with the ongoing production of avionics items, the installation of avionics onto aircraft, and support during the commissioning process of new aircraft.
The role will include the repair and basic rework of incoming items as well as
following testing programs to return the items to service. The candidate will be expected to be comfortable working within an electronics assembly space as part of a larger production line for the Windracers ULTRA vehicles.
They will be part of a small team responsible for the overall delivery of avionics for the product and will be comfortable moving from task to task throughout the manufacturing process.
There will be work both following standard engineering drawings and specifications, as well as work that is less defined where the candidate can input their prior knowledge and expertise.
The role will involve both bench based, and standing work, as well as opportunities to work away from the production facility supporting our post production flight operations within the UK.
Please note this role will require the candidate to undergo BPSS security vetting.
Responsibilities
Hands-on manufacturing of avionics components, sub-assemblies, and cable assemblies
from build packs to meet scheduled customer and R&D team demands. Testing and qualification of avionics following SOPs.
Hands-on repair and rework of incoming failed items including carrying out basic functional tests.
Feedback of process and assembly pain points to Manufacturing and Engineering Teams.
Installation of avionics onto aircraft, following SOPs.
On site support as required during installation and flight testing of new systems (within the UK).
Continued management of workspace, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness is maintained.
Ensuring stock levels of consumable items under your control are maintained and request for additional consumables made to the purchasing team.
Assisting with aircraft level system acceptance testing, where required.
Skills and qualifications
Technically capable with good logical reasoning.
Ability to adapt and learn new skills.
Good presentation and communication skills.
Ability to follow and give feedback on engineering drawings or manufacturing packs.
Manufacturing Process Knowledge.
Background with hand soldering and
general PCBA production. Background in basic cable assembly (Power systems, high-integrity signals, RF).
Box build experience.
Knowledge of using standard electronics test equipment (DMMs, Power Supplies, DC Loads, etc).
General workshop light machining experience.
Previous experience with Microsoft Office Software and general computer skills.
Prior relevant industry experience (desirable).
Experience using MCAD and ECAD tools (desirable).
IPC qualifications CIS or greater (IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-WHMA-620-A) (desirable).
* UAV industry knowledge (desirable).
