Job Description

Baby Bliss is a new service being introduced at Citizens Advice Mid Lincolnshire. A baby bank works in a similar way to a food bank. Families experiencing hardship -- instead of having to pay for the things they need for their baby - can access essential items such as nappies, clothes, shoes and toys for FREE. And similar to charity shops, people can donate good-quality items for other families.

Whether you're looking for a way to meet new people, learn new skills or gain experience we would love to welcome you into the team! You will be making a real difference to vulnerable families in our community - making sure they have the things they need for their babies and children.

This is a brand new project, however once established we believe that demand for the service will be high. We are therefore looking for a small team of committed volunteers to sort through donations and prepare items for families. If you are able to volunteer regularly for 2-3 hours per week, we'd love to hear from you.

Training and support will be provided by the wider team. This is an ideal opportunity to help some of the most vulnerable members of our community and to meet the needs of families who are struggling to afford baby items.

What you'll be doing:

Sorting through donations Create beautiful packages of clothes, books and toys with care Check donated pre-loved items, so that they're all of gift quality Monitor referral forms to ensure that the correct items are prepared for families. Assist with online and face to face promotional activities Respond with kindness and empathy in emotionally sensitive conversations Act in a non-judgmental and inclusive way
