We are seeking an enthusiastic

Baker / Bakery Assistant

to join our vibrant bakery team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality baked goods. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
Previous bakery experience required

Duties & Responsibilities

Preparing and baking breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items Mixing, weighing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes Operating bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers Decorating and finishing baked goods to a high standard Ensuring products are fresh, well-presented, and meet quality standards Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of work areas in line with food safety regulations Assisting with stock control and ingredient preparation Supporting the bakery team in food production, including mixing, baking, and assembling products Handling food safety procedures diligently, adhering to hygiene and food handling regulations Opening and/or closing the bakery when required

Key Skills & Requirements

Good knowledge of baking ingredients and their uses (e.g. understanding the difference between caster sugar and granulated/normal sugar) Ability to accurately weigh and measure ingredients Basic baking skills and understanding of recipes Strong attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality Good time management and ability to work to deadlines Awareness of food hygiene and health & safety standards Ability to follow instructions and work independently Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform bakery tasks Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
