BAKER

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone with proven baking experience -- either from a professional kitchen environment or from consistently baking at home to a high standard. If you haven't baked regularly or worked in a similar setting, this role is not the right fit for you and your application with be rejected automatically.

Salary:

12.50 per hour, increasing to 13.20 per hour after successful probation

About the Role:

We're looking for a skilled and motivated

part-time baker

to join the team at LongPlay Coffee in Caerphilly. This is a kitchen-based role where you'll be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods that make up a key part of our offering.

You'll need to be confident working independently and managing your own prep schedule. If you're creative, organised, and passionate about high-quality bakes, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Baking:

Classic cakes including Victoria sponge, carrot cake, lemon drizzle Traybakes such as brownies, blondies, flapjacks Seasonal or special bakes when needed (e.g. themed cakes, loaf bakes) Bread experience is a bonus (e.g. sourdough, focaccia), but not essential

Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum

1 year baking experience

in a cafe, bakery, or commercial kitchen Confidence with following recipes and scaling batches Good understanding of baking processes and food hygiene Organised and able to manage time effectively when working solo Eye for presentation and detail -- our bakes should look as good as they taste Reliable, consistent, and proactive

Bonus Points For:

Previous

leadership experience

in a kitchen or bakery setting Experience developing or adapting recipes An interest in creative input for seasonal specials or cafe events

Other Details:

This role does not include front-of-house or barista duties Some baking may be done off-site (depending on setup and candidate) You'll be joining a passionate, independent business with a small but hardworking team

Pay: 12.21-13.20 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
