We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a baker / chef. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of food items in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The successful candidate will contribute to creating delicious dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and delight our customers. Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and specifications
Cook a variety of food items, including baked goods, main courses, and side dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking processes
Assist in menu planning and development as required
Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed to minimise waste
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery
Qualifications
Previous experience in food production, preparation, or cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Skills in culinary techniques such as baking, frying, grilling, and sauteing
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
A passion for creating high-quality dishes and delivering excellent customer service
Formal qualifications in culinary arts or hospitality management are advantageous but not essential
Pastry prep and making of fresh cakes
