Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare a variety of baked goods such as bread, rolls, croissants and scones

- Follow recipes and instructions to accurately measure and mix ingredients

- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure proper cooking and desired results

- Prepare and present baked goods in an appealing and attractive manner

- Ensure all products meet quality and freshness standards

- Take inventory of ingredients and supplies and place orders accordingly

- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to food safety guidelines

- Train and mentor new employees on baking techniques and procedures

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1 year experience as a baker in a professional bakery

- Knowledge of different baking techniques and methods

- Ability to read and follow recipes accurately

- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new and unique baked goods

- Strong attention to detail and time management skills

- Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills

- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items and stand for long periods of time

- Food safety certification is preferred but not required

Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers safely and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and assist with ordering when necessary. Collaborate with team members to create new recipes and improve existing products. Ensure all baked goods are presented attractively for display or sale.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role within the culinary field. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with various baking techniques and equipment. A passion for cooking and creating high-quality baked goods. Flexibility to work early mornings or late evenings as required.
