Job Summary


We have an opportunity for a Baker to join our team in our bustling craft bakery were we produce a wide variety of high quality artisan bakery goods for our own shops and the local area.

Morning bakery work involves the a wide variety of tasks such as mixing & moulding breads and wheaten & scones. Some other desired bakery skills could include creaming, filling, finishing of sweet morning goods such as doughnuts, danish pastry and pastries. Cake and pastry making usually follow later in the bakery working day, some of which require preparing and finishing over several days.

The bakers full working week is five days, Tuesdays to Saturdays with 5am starts with 1:30pm finish. Fridays and Saturdays start and finish 1 hour earlier.

Diploma & Certificate for Proficiency in Baking Industry Skills

Level 2 & 3 can be provided.

Part time hours applicants are also considered , if so please specify.

Responsibilities


- From our orders, planning and recipes, the work requires weighing, mixing,ovening,portioning,coating,icing, piping a wide range of cake batters, fondants, icings, fillings and creams into baked goods and confectionery .
- Operate, control and maintain modern bakery equipment such as a mixers, dividers , hot plate , pastry laminators, fridges and utensils .
- Ensure all bakery items meet food safety regulations and our own quality standards.
- Assist in stock management and inventory control of baking supplies.
- Communicate and liaise with the other departments to ensure efficient workflows.

Experience


- Proven experience in a similar, fast-paced multitasking role in a hotel or restaurant pastry section or bakery setting.
- Knowledge of food production processes and techniques, especially in breads and or cake and pastry making.
- Familiarity with local bakery products.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment with good hand-eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail, flair and organisational skills in managing multiple tasks.
