Puratos UK has been designing, manufacturing and distributing ingredients for the bakery, confectionery and chocolate sectors for almost 40 years. Based at our Innovation Centre in Oxfordshire, we are currently seeking an:

Senior Application Specialist - Bakery

(Fringford, Oxfordshire)

who will be proactive in seeking solutions to our customers\' needs before they arise. Reporting directly to the R&D Manager - Bakery, the successful candidate will have excellent baking and interpersonal skills and an intimate knowledge of the industrial bakery market.

Key Accountabilities

Technical capabilities

• Evaluate, analyse and interpret our customers\' technical problems, proposing and developing solutions alongside them
• Product development and demonstration from lab trials through to scale-up on plant with our customers
• Develop and share expertise in industrial bakery ingredient, manufacturing technologies and equipment

Relationship-building

• With our customers, ensuring that their needs are understood
• With our marketing and sales teams, sharing everyday experiences to shape tomorrow\'s products
• With our Operations team including to create Quality standards and effective Production processes
• With suppliers, equipment manufacturers and professional bodies to keep us looking towards the next challenge

Idea generation and new product development

• Keeping up with latest trends to generate and test new ideas in-line with our strategy
• Participate in the development of new bakery products with our local and global R&D teams
• Monitor and test the quality of our existing ranges

Profile

• Excellent bakery skills
• 5 years\' experience in industrial bakery
• Proven understanding of the role and relationships of food ingredients
• Working effectively in a cross functional team
• Presentation skills to promote ideas and products
• Available to travel within the UK and occasionally further afield (approximately 25% of time)
• Computer literacy (primary usage: Microsoft Office Suite and SAP)
