Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to our retail shops and wholesale customers. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting, as well as a strong commitment to customer service. The Delivery Driver will operate a 7.5 tonne van, navigating established routes while adhering to all safety regulations.

Hours are paid from 03:00 to 11:00, earlier finish if deliveries satisfactorily completed in full. Friday is worked as a double shift early morning and evening.

Duties

Safely drive a delivery vehicle to transport goods to Gerrards stores. Load and unload items, ensuring that all deliveries are handled with care and accuracy. Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring that all items are securely packed for transit. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly. Follow all traffic laws and company policies while driving to ensure safety on the road. Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with colleagues and customers upon delivery.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a delivery driver is required. Valid driving licence (C1) and Tacho Card (CPC) to drive a 7.5 tonne van. Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with colleagues and customers. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
