Job Summary

Dance&Arts LTD is seeking a nurturing, graceful, and engaging Ballet/Tap/Jazz Instructor to lead Ballet/Tap/Jazz Afterschool Club COVER today, Tuesday 2nd December, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, in a primary school in the Clapton area (E5).

This role is ideal for a ballet/tap/jazz teacher who loves working with young children and can introduce foundational technique in a fun, structured, and age-appropriate way. You will guide pupils from KS1 (ages 6-7) through basic positions, simple choreography, musicality, and creative movement activities that build confidence, coordination, and early dance discipline. A calm, positive, and encouraging approach is essential.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver an engaging ballet session for young pupils aged 6-7. Teach basic positions, simple combinations, and age-appropriate technique. Incorporate musicality, balance exercises, creative movement, and simple choreography. Maintain a supportive, structured, and inspiring class environment. Encourage confidence, focus, and enjoyment of dance for all abilities. Communicate effectively with school staff and the Dance&Arts coordination team. Follow all safeguarding and health & safety standards.

Experience and Skills

Essential Experience:

Experience teaching ballet, creative movement, or early dance to young children (ages 6-7).

Strong Knowledge:

Understanding of foundational ballet technique, posture, rhythm, and early childhood movement development.

Key Skills:

Excellent communication, patience, creativity, and strong classroom management tailored to young dancers.

Personal Qualities:

Warm, reliable, enthusiastic, and passionate about nurturing creativity and early dance skills.

Vetting:

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Qualifications:

A background in Ballet, Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field is desirable and preferred for this role.
